From Madrid to heaven
The capital of Spain attracts a multitude of tourists and visitors every year, curious to discover the cultural, gastronomic and leisure offerings of the city. From our hostels in Puerta del Sol and Atocha, you will have easy and comfortable access to the main monuments and points of interest, as well as a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops, to fill your agenda with interesting plans whenever you want.
Art and culture
Talking about Madrid is talking about art, history, about times that intertwine and give rise to spaces as picturesque and distinctive as Plaza Mayor, the Almudena Cathedral, the Botanical Garden, the Puerta de Alcalá, the Temple of Debod or the fountains of Cibeles and Neptune.
Both from Hostal Castilla I Atocha and from Hostal Castilla II Puerta del Sol you can reach in a few minutes the so-called Art Triangle of Madrid, formed by the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Museum and the Reina Sofía Museum, where works by Velázquez, Goya, Picasso and other renowned painters and sculptors have left their mark. This offer is complemented by the activities of the Caixa Forum.
In addition, the Matadero, La Casa Encendida and the old Tabacalera are three of the most important cultural and urban innovation centers in Madrid, with a multitude of activities and workshops for all audiences.

A thousand plans for all tastes

Shopping
The Salamanca neighborhood with its Golden Mile is a great attraction for those who want to go shopping in the city. Major national and international brands greet us along the streets Serrano, part of Goya or Claudio Coello. The Gran Vía is also a popular spot, now with more space for pedestrians, as well as Princesa or the outlet Las Rozas Village.

Madrid with family
Madrid is a city made for all audiences. Cultural centers owned by the City Council or shopping centers are always prepared with educational and recreational activities for the little ones in the family. The Zoo, Faunia, the Amusement Park or Warner Park complete the city’s children’s entertainment offer. These theme parks also feature shows and activities that will also delight adults.

Excursions near Madrid
The Community of Madrid does not end in the capital. If you have more days, it is worth visiting places like Alcalá de Henares, the city of Cervantes, the San Juan reservoir, the area of Buitrago de Lozoyuela or Aranjuez.
Very close by are also the medieval city of Toledo, the aqueduct of Segovia or the walls of Ávila. These cities, apart from their architectural beauty, also stand out for a rich gastronomy with traditional dishes.
Explore Madrid's iconic stadiums
Footbal
Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid are the two great teams of the city and the ones that generate the most interest among visitors. The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is located before reaching the end of Castellana, one of the great boulevards that crosses the city center. The grass, the museum, the good soccer and the nearby leisure places complete an offer full of spectacle. The Wanda Metropolitano is the stadium of Atlético de Madrid, which since 2017 replaces the old Calderón. It is a modern stadium with a large capacity. It is a bit further away from the city, but it is worth a visit.

Madrid: tradition, gastronomy, and nature.

El Rastro
Every Sunday and public holiday from 9:00 to 15:00 you can visit the famous El Rastro market, a traditional market in Madrid where you can find everything from books to antiques, clothes, technology… In short, everything you can imagine! And to complete the plan, the La Latina area is perfect for enjoying some tapas.

Gastronomy
If you come to Madrid you cannot miss trying its traditional dishes, such as the “cocido madrileño”, the squid sandwich near Plaza Mayor or the chocolate with churros from San Ginés. Additionally, Madrid has up to 24 restaurants with Michelin stars and a wide variety of gastronomic markets, such as San Miguel Market in La Latina, San Antón Market in Chueca or San Fernando Market in Lavapiés.

Madrid Río
Madrid Río, to the south, closer to the Atocha area and Hostal Castilla I, has become one of the great lungs of the city, in addition to Casa de Campo. The integration of the river, the routes for biking or skating, its kiosks and swings make it an ideal space for Saturday mornings.
